In 1968, another major step was taken in Laënnec Hospital in Paris France, Dr. Eric Hazan performed the first coronary artery bypass grafting surgical procedure in Europe.
Ten years later, in 1978, Wassim Khoury joined the staff of Laënnec Hospital, a major French school of heart surgery for adults and children and began his first traineeship in heart surgery.
